The August 6, 2026 Qubic All-Hands covered a dense two weeks for this AI-focused Layer 1 blockchain. Two systems went live on mainnet, a payments partnership opened QUBIC to millions of merchants, and the science team returned from two international conferences with an award and a fresh publication. Qubic Outsourced Computing: the third pillar, now on mainnet

Outsourced Computing is best understood as the bridge between a Qubic app and everything outside Qubic. Until now, smart contracts could run their logic and read outside data through Oracles. Outsourced Computing lets them act, triggering events in the wider world. That completes the third and final pillar of how Qubic connects to anything beyond its own ledger. Operators are setting up and testing their environments now, and anyone can watch what the network triggers in the test setup at ocmock.qubic.org. More connections get added as operator feedback arrives.

BPP-9000: Qubic's new Useful Proof of Work mining algorithm

BPP-9000 changes what mining rewards. Mining on Qubic runs on Useful Proof of Work, so miners do real AI work rather than solving arbitrary puzzles. This algorithm points that work at predicting whether Bitcoin's price will rise, fall, or hold over a year. The meaningful shift is in scoring. Miners used to be paid for producing the most answers. Now they are paid for producing the best one, and lower error scores win. That single change pushes every miner toward quality, which is exactly what the research behind Qubic's AI needs.

BPP-9000 also sets up the next algorithm, the ant colony. Today every computer works the same task in parallel. The ant colony lets tasks chain together so machines build on each other's results the way a real colony does. Ant colony is targeted for epoch EP228.

AIO Dev Kit: build and test Qubic smart contracts for free

The AIO Dev Kit removes the biggest hurdle for new builders, which is cost. Testing a smart contract used to mean roughly $10k to run it through an IPO. The kit lets a developer build and test locally for nothing, then move to mainnet only when the contract is ready. It pairs naturally with AI coding tools: point Claude Code at the Qubic docs, ask for a contract, and it can write and test the whole thing automatically. One developer shipped three contracts in the first week. Cheaper, faster iteration should mean more Qubic smart contracts on the network, and better ones.

@QubicDev, testing, and security

Two smaller items round out the core update. A new technical account, @QubicDev, now posts three to five times a week for developers, so tech news no longer waits for the fortnightly AMA. And behind every stable release sits a small testing duo, Kavatak and YuraBB8, who run nodes and push new builds until they break, then help third-party developers get set up in the Discord Dev channel.

Maintenance work continued in the background. Private repositories are now encrypted, public RPC traffic routes to verified nodes automatically, and core math optimizations are in testing to make the software run faster. On security, seven of the nine post-incident actions are complete. The remaining two are on track, and a public retrospective is set for 08-17.

Ecosystem: QUBIC Goes Live on AEON Pay

The headline here is adoption you can spend. QUBIC is now live on AEON Pay, which means it works at around 50 million merchants across markets in Asia, Latin America and Africa. AEON connects into the local payment systems those shops already use, so a merchant simply sees a normal QR payment settled in their own currency. That is how the reach gets to tens of millions rather than a few crypto-friendly stores. It is the second ecosystem partnership after the Alchemy Pay fiat on-ramp, and it lands where Qubic's community already has a presence.

Regulation advanced as well. The entity that will carry Qubic's whitepaper through the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) requirements has been formally founded and is now operating. Qubic also picked up listings on three more developer-activity trackers, and further partnerships are lined up for announcement.

One project drew interest in the Q&A: BFrost, a trustless bridge in development. It uses Oracle machines and zero-knowledge proofs to move assets without a central operator holding control, which addresses the main concern with earlier bridge designs. An early version is estimated at roughly one and a half to two months out.

Scientific: Qubic's AGI Research Wins in Osaka and Publishes at AGI-26

David Vivancos and Dr. Jose Sanchez brought back strong results from a month on the road for Qubic's decentralized AI work.

The core idea is simple to state. Most AI runs on binary logic, ones and zeros. Qubic's neural networks use three states: yes, no, and a neutral middle. That middle "maybe" acts as a buffer, much closer to how a real brain decides whether a neuron fires. The team's paper on this idea, "The Neutral Buffer State," won Best Oral Presentation at the AMLDS 2026 conference in Osaka (July 21–23, 2026), its second best-paper award this year.

In San Francisco, the 19th International Conference on Artificial General Intelligence (July 27–30, 2026) accepted Qubic's Multi-Neuraxon work, now published in Springer's AGI proceedings. Multi-Neuraxon links many of these artificial neurons into a proto-brain with separate regions for tasks like vision and sound. Getting into Springer matters because it puts the work in front of researchers worldwide who can cite it and build on it.

Progress showed up on the benchmarks too. On ARC-AGI-3, one of the toughest reasoning tests in AI, Qubic's models roughly doubled their score to 0.25. This is the strict offline Kaggle version of the test, run with no internet access, so the result reflects genuine reasoning rather than lookup. Alongside that, the team's evolutionary "Game of Life" ran nonstop for 44 days with about a thousand community-built Neuraxons competing. The standout finding was inheritance: offspring carried traits from their parents, a result now feeding the next round of papers. That dataset publishes on Hugging Face next week.

Why this matters for a crypto project comes down to credibility. Peer-reviewed, award-winning AGI research is rare in the space, and it opens doors to serious scientific and institutional interest that most tokens never reach. Marketing: Growth Across X and Email

The last two weeks brought steady growth. Impressions on X rose 15% to 722.8K, total engagements were up nearly 9%, replies jumped 60% to 619, and profile visits climbed 32%. The email newsletter held an open rate close to 31% across 26 campaigns, well above industry norms.

The Alchemy Pay launch campaign backed up the payments push. It generated 447 press placements and a potential audience near 5.8 million, more than 315 posts under #QubicPay, and 500K+ impressions. The clearest sign of impact was around 115 new wallets, and email proved the strongest channel for driving action. The next focus is local growth in emerging markets, starting with APAC, with new wallets as the metric that matters most.

On team structure, the working group is coordinating the next phase of marketing. A proposal to continue the current setup did not reach quorum, so the leads are aligning on the path forward before bringing a new one. Core channels stay live throughout. The website and X account continue as normal, and these AMAs run in the same format.
