TLDR

The July 23 All-Hands covered a packed two weeks. Scientific recognition at an IEEE conference in Osaka, the first Outsourced Computation code on mainnet, a new global fiat on-ramp for QUBIC going live, and a roadmap that extends into October. Each department walked through what shipped and what comes next.

Qubic Scientific Team: IEEE Award and ARC-AGI-3 Progress

David Vivancos and Dr. José Sánchez presented at the IEEE-sponsored AMLDS 2026 conference in Osaka (July 21–23) and were voted Best Oral Presentation in their session.

Their paper, "The Neutral Buffer State," tackles a deceptively simple question: what happens when you give a neural network a third option between "on" and "off"? Traditional neural networks use two states. The Qubic research adds a neutral buffer at zero, sitting between excitatory (+1) and inhibitory (-1). That single addition produces a network that self-stabilizes without manual resets or fine tuning. Think of it like a traffic system: two-state networks are binary stop-or-go intersections that jam easily. Adding a yield state lets traffic self-regulate. The paper reports that the three-state model reaches 88.8% critical occupancy compared to 37.2% in a binary one, and the design maps directly onto simple hardware. On the AGI benchmark side, Neuraxon 2.0 posted an updated score of 0.21% on ARC-AGI-3 as of July 22, 2026, doubled from 0.13%. ARC-AGI-3 tests general reasoning with visual pattern puzzles that children can solve but frontier LLMs largely cannot. Most large language models score 0% on these tasks. Neuraxon's approach is fundamentally different: bio-inspired, CPU-only, no GPU required, no LLM API calls, zero operating cost. Seven Kaggle submissions were completed in six days (v1058 through v1072), with each run iterating on the configuration. The score is early-stage, but the trajectory and the economics of the approach are what make it worth watching. All code and data remain open source on GitHub.

Qubic Core Tech Update: Mining, Smart Contracts, and Outsourced Computations

Joetom led the update across six project areas.

Seamless updates now work. The Qubic network historically required disruptive node updates roughly every week. The goal is to bring mandatory updates down to once per month. The first seamless update ran successfully: Computors received software ahead of time, installed it on their own schedule, and the update applied automatically at the epoch transition. No manual intervention required.

Security incident, handled. On July 13, 2026, an attacker accessed parts of the Qubic GitHub infrastructure and injected malicious code into certain repositories. The breach was contained, audited, and remediated. A detailed post-mortem was published, and five of nine remediation actions have shipped, with the rest in progress. 

BPP-9000 mining algorithm activates at Epoch 224. This is the next Useful Proof of Work mining algorithm for the Qubic network. It trains a network modeled on how biological neurons work, using one year of Bitcoin's hourly price data. Each prediction takes one of three values: up, down, or unknown. Fewer errors across the full year means a better score. The goal is zero errors. Documentation has been distributed to Computors and miner developers, and testing is complete. No schedule changes on this one.

Outsourced Computations reaching mainnet. The first OC code shipped to mainnet in Epoch 223. A mainnet mock test with public tracking begins next epoch, and full production is targeted for early-to-mid August. All repositories are open on GitHub for developers to inspect the code and run their own OC machines. This is the third pillar of the Qubic architecture moving toward production alongside smart contracts and Oracle Machines.

AIO Dev Kit launched. A new all-in-one developer toolkit bundles Qubic Core Lite, a dev faucet, wallet, explorer, and RPC into a single runnable instance. Smart contract developers no longer need to stand up each tool separately.

Smart contracts reopened. The core team is actively reviewing and approving submissions again, with a documented six-step lifecycle. The next planned upgrade is automated merging: when Computors approve a smart contract proposal, it deploys automatically without requiring core dev bandwidth. This will be the first real workflow combining all three Qubic pillars on-chain.

Q3 budget approved. The Computors approved 671 billion QUBIC (~$288K USD) for Q3, covering approximately $85K per month for core infrastructure, validators, wallets, and public RPC. A $35K refund from unspent June funds was included.

QUBIC halving approaching. The second halving lands at Epoch 227, around August 19, 2026. The protocol burn rate will rise from 55% to 77.5%, cutting net weekly emissions roughly in half. The bookmarks and shares numbers matter most here. They indicate that people are saving content and distributing it to their own audiences, which tracks with the team's focus on educational posts about Qubic and the broader AI space. 

Three content efforts are in motion. The Qubic science page is live and consolidates all of the scientific team's work in one place. Mining tutorials are being fully rewritten and re-recorded since the existing set is over a year old and no longer matches current pool operator interfaces; the updated versions are expected by end of July. The Alchemy Pay launch is backed by a coordinated push across email, press releases, and socials.

Buy QUBIC with Alchemy Pay, now live. QUBIC is now purchasable in 173 countries through 300+ payment channels: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfers, PIX (Brazil), SPEI (Mexico), UPI (India), and SEPA (Europe). Alchemy Pay holds 18 US state Money Transmitter Licenses. The integration price was negotiated from $30K down to $20K, with the savings redirected into the marketing campaign. A sequenced rollout of weekly announcements is planned for the coming month, including an AMA on Alchemy Pay's social channels and gaming-related activities. Merchant payments are next. A second partnership focused on real-world merchant payments is in motion. Details remain undisclosed, but Kimz confirmed that Alchemy Pay was designed as the opening move in a broader sequence. The BD strategy is to build momentum gradually, releasing announcements in a planned cadence.

Exchange positioning. During Q&A, the team addressed questions about tier-one exchanges. On OKX and Binance, the team is building relationships and waiting to engage from a position where the terms make strategic sense for the project. The emphasis is on securing conditions that lead to confirmed outcomes rather than committing resources to campaigns with uncertain results.

August brings several convergence points: Outsourced Computations moving to full production, BPP-9000 going live, the QUBIC halving around August 19, the Alchemy Pay campaign unfolding week by week, and the scientific team presenting at AGI-26 in San Francisco.
