Tokenized mining, automated qRWA payouts and qMine's place in the Qubic ecosystem
Qubic held its second Community Space on 17 October 2026, hosted by Rayyan, with community creator Samson presenting qMine. Samson, known as Samson of LA on X and YouTube, has followed Qubic since early 2024 and has spent the past year making video content about the network. The first Space covered My Last Match. This one looked at qMine: what it is, how it pays its holders, how it takes part in governance and how it connects to other projects on Qubic.
What Is qMine? Tokenized Mining on Qubic
qMine is a community-funded project that tokenizes physical mining hardware. Qubic's ecosystem directory lists it as the first real-world asset (RWA) token on Qubic. Holders don't buy or run rigs themselves. They hold qMine tokens, and part of what the rigs mine is paid to each wallet in proportion to its holding.
Holders need no hardware or technical setup. The rigs run around the clock, with a team on location for maintenance and repairs.
qMine is its own token issued on Qubic, separate from QUBIC itself, a point that came up again in the Q&A.
Samson framed it as another way to earn Qubic, alongside mining directly or locking QUBIC in Qearn.
How the qRWA Smart Contract Automates qMine Payouts
In qMine's early days, payouts were sent manually. They now run through qRWA, a Qubic smart contract that has been live since Epoch 197. It pays holders once per epoch, which on Qubic lasts one week, so nobody has to rely on a person to send the funds. The qRWA source code is public and shows how revenue moves through four pools, each paid out on Fridays.
Pool | Revenue source | Paid (UTC) | How it is split |
|---|---|---|---|
A | Qubic mining | 12:00 | Electricity, maintenance and reinvestment fees come out first. The rest goes 90% to qMine holders and 10% to qRWA shareholders |
B | Smart contract dividends and other assets | 14:00 | 90% to qMine holders and 10% to qRWA shareholders, with no fees |
C | Bitcoin mining | 13:00 | 90% to qMine holders and 10% to qRWA shareholders who hold at least 100,000 qMine per share |
D | My Last Match water | 15:00 | 10% to reinvestment, 80% to qMine holders and 10% to qRWA shareholders who hold at least 100,000 qMine per share |
A few rules in the contract matter for anyone holding qMine:
Each payout uses the smaller of a wallet's balance at the start and at the end of the epoch, so qMine bought partway through a week starts earning the following week.
qMine held at the SafeTrade exchange address is excluded from distributions.
The 100,000 qMine requirement is the bonus Samson described for qRWA shareholders. To collect their share of Bitcoin mining and water revenue, they also have to hold qMine, which keeps more of the token held.
Samson pointed to a recent record payout of about 12 Qu per qMine for a single epoch. qMine's rewards dashboard shows Epoch 233, paid on 2 October, at about 12.6 Qu per token across two payouts. For qRWA shares, he cited a dividend tracker built by community developer Andy_Qs that showed more than 1 million Qu per share in a recent epoch, putting qRWA close to QX in some weeks.
Flexible Mining: CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and the Switch to Monero
qMine runs several kinds of hardware: CPUs, GPUs, Bitcoin miners and Scrypt ASICs for Dogecoin and Litecoin. Samson described the setup as flexible, and the CPUs are the clearest example.
Sometimes GPUs are the better fit for mining Qubic, and CPU mining pays less. When that happens, qMine moves its CPUs to Monero (XMR), sells the XMR, buys Qubic and distributes it to holders. The GPUs keep mining Qubic in the meantime, and they have mined other coins too, including Pearl on at least one occasion.
qMine's public mining dashboard reflects this mix. It lists regular XMR payments from the SupportXMR pool through September and October 2026 and showed about 918 TH/s of Bitcoin hashrate on 21 October.
qMine's Role in Qubic Governance
Protocol changes and new smart contracts on Qubic go to a vote of the network's 676 Computors, and a vote is only valid when at least 451 of them take part. That 451 threshold is the same two-thirds-plus-one quorum that secures consensus. Samson said qMine holds 15 of the 676 Computor seats.
Holders have a say in how those seats vote:
When a proposal comes up, the qMine community discusses it and votes in the qMine Discord, and qMine's Computors then cast their votes on the network to match the result.
On chain, the qRWA contract lets qMine holders vote on its own settings, such as the electricity, maintenance and reinvestment percentages taken from mining revenue. Open polls appear on qMine's voting page.
qMine Supply, Burns and Buybacks
qMine launched with a supply of 1 billion tokens. Holders later voted, 96% in favor, to permanently burn the 100 million qMine held in the reinvestment fund. According to the qMine team, those tokens had no planned use: the project is self-sustaining through its 10% operational allocation, and a 16.3 billion Qu reserve covers future hardware needs. The burn went through in a single on-chain transaction and cut supply to 900 million. Buybacks and burns are now part of the protocol, with 2.4 million qMine bought back so far, and no new qMine will be minted.
Samson put the current supply at 897,561,939 qMine, which matches 900 million minus the roughly 2.44 million bought back since. The holder base is still small, at 946 holders on qMine’s dashboard on 21 October.
Ecosystem Connections: QX, Match Lords, QCAP, QTREAT and My Last Match
Samson described qMine as one of the most connected projects on Qubic and walked through how other projects plug into it. The holdings below are as he presented them.
QX trading volume. On the day of the Space, Samson counted about 10 billion Qu of qMine trading volume over 24 hours on QubicTrade, against roughly 2 billion for the next project, QCAP. His point was that this trading runs through QX, Qubic's on-chain exchange contract, which splits its earnings across its 676 shares, so qMine activity feeds QX shareholders.
Match Lords. The Match Lords clan holds 6 million qMine and 28 qRWA shares, so Match Lords token holders earn from qMine as well.
QCAP. Qubic Capital pools community funds to buy dividend-paying smart contract shares. Samson said it is the largest qRWA holder with 122 shares, which make up a large part of its revenue.
QTREAT. Samson described QTREAT as an offshoot of the QDOGE memecoin on Qubic, and said it also receives value from qMine and qRWA shares.
My Last Match. Samson called My Last Match qMine's largest strategic exposure. The survival MMORPG is in beta, and its most important resource is water, about 95% of which qMine controls. Each player uses about 3 liters per in-game day, a real day holds almost five in-game days, and water costs about 25,000 Qu per liter in the game. The qRWA contract sends this water revenue to its own pool, Pool D. Samson also listed qMine's other holdings tied to the game, including MLM, Match Lords and Wolf Pack.
The qMine Charity Fund
qMine set aside 20 million tokens, 2% of the original supply, for the Qubic Charity Fund, as listed in its tokenomics. Those tokens earn the same weekly Qubic payouts as any other holding, so the fund has had a steady income since the project began instead of a single donation. Samson shared the fund's donation address during the Space for anyone who wants to contribute directly.
What's Next for qMine: Real-World Assets Beyond Mining
Samson closed the presentation with plans the qMine team is exploring to connect real businesses and property with the Qubic ecosystem:
qMine founder Eko has taken an operating four-star hotel on a 10-year lease, intending to buy the property after a few years, and has been working on its operations, occupancy and revenue.
The long-term idea is for the community to buy the hotel together, funded through qMine’s reinvestment share of revenue. qMine holders would get priority access, with ownership and profits split in proportion to each participant’s investment.
Eko is also developing a residential and commercial building in the same city, where apartments sold during construction return part of the capital before the building is finished.
Samson presented these as goals rather than finished arrangements, and he did not give terms or dates.
Q&A Highlights From the Qubic Community Space
Is qMine a different token from QUBIC? Yes. QUBIC is the network's native coin, and qMine is a separate token issued on Qubic, much as tokens are issued on Ethereum alongside ETH.
If Qubic uses Useful Proof of Work, why does qMine mine Monero? It is a qMine decision made for holder revenue, separate from Qubic's own Monero mining, which was a network-wide experiment. When CPU mining on Qubic pays less, qMine's CPUs mine XMR, which is sold for Qubic and paid out to holders.
Do qMine's GPUs keep mining Qubic while the CPUs mine XMR? Yes. Asked whether qMine still contributes to Qubic in that case, Samson said hardware mining another coin isn't working on Qubic at that moment, while the GPUs carry on with Useful Proof of Work.
Are there plans for physical connections? Samson took this to mean the real-world asset plans and pointed to the hotel, which is already an operating business. The remaining work is making it fit with the qMine smart contract and distributions. He invited the questioner to follow up with more detail.
How active is governance? Proposals such as new smart contracts or marketing initiatives are discussed and voted on in the qMine Discord, and qMine's 15 Computors vote on the network based on the result.
What do people misunderstand most about qMine? The most common confusion Samson sees is the basic one: how qMine differs from QUBIC. Without some background in Qubic, qMine is hard to place, which keeps it a niche project for now.
