Kit_Kat_83 on the permanent world, safe house respawn economics, and the protocol underneath

Qubic ran its first Community Space on 25 September 2026, hosted by Rayyan, with Kit_Kat_83, project lead of the Match Lords clan, presenting on My Last Match (MLM). Our earlier post covered the game as closed beta approached. This is where it stands now, past 100 days in.

What Is My Last Match? A Hardcore Survival MMORPG on Qubic

MLM is a hardcore survival MMORPG running on Epic's Unreal Engine 5, and it is a Windows title. Not mobile, not Apple. Development sits with Come-from-Beyond and a small team based alongside him in Cyprus, with a board of directors steering the project. The target is 50,000 concurrent players at roughly 50 ms latency in a single shared world.

On PC requirements, CfB's stated minimum is an RTX 2080. Officer Sadegh plays on an RTX 3060 with a Core i5 and 16 GB of RAM, while officer Ink runs the game from a $200 laptop through the shadow.tech subscription, which makes cloud streaming a workable route in.

How Qubic Powers the My Last Match Economy

A world holding 50,000 simultaneous players, each generating item transfers, loot events and deaths, needs settlement that will not choke. Kit_Kat_83 pointed to Qubic's CertiK-verified 15.52 million TPS as the reason the design is viable. Every transaction and asset sits on the tickchain, with no gas fees eroding player progress.

The result is ownership. Items bind to a player's Qubic wallet, transfers carry IDs anyone can check on the Qubic Explorer, and the record outlives any single server. The in-game currency is matches, where the title comes from, and one match will equal 1,000 Qu at full release. Safe houses have already changed hands for 4-10 billion Qus, settled on chain.

Closed Beta Progress and the Case for Invisible Progress

Kit_Kat_83 described a market conditioned to demand proof on demand, where silence reads as failure. His counter was bamboo: five years underground, then ninety feet in five weeks.

MLM has now passed 100 days of closed beta, developed publicly with a build log every two weeks. The pace is structural. The world is permanent, so testing carries consequences that persist, and the game is PvP. Hunger, thirst, suffocation, lightning and weather exposure can all end a run today, with infection planned. Graphics come last by design: CfB's concept render of the finished city aligns road for road with the current blocky beta layout.

Dementals, Mares and the Light vs Dark Survival Loop

The setting is Western Europe in the 1990s. On the day the community calls Day Zero, the map fell into perpetual twilight. There are no zombies here. There are the insane.

Dementals are the primary hostile mob and they run. Sound, movement and light draw them, and they carry loot worth taking. Mares work in the opposite direction, haunting unlit space, impossible to kill, draining sanity as they close in. Lose enough of it and you become a Demental yourself. Light holds Mares back while pulling Dementals in, so striking a match is always a decision. Our April post breaks this loop down in more depth.

Death costs items, which become lootable, and knowledge, which matters more. Players pick between three character types, and the beta map is a small section of a much larger one.

Safe Houses and My Last Match Respawn Economics

Safe houses are respawn points and working bases where players craft, cook, rest and store gear. They range from apartments and mansions to hospitals, casinos, farms and truck repair garages.

There were originally 676, one per share issued at the MLM IPO, mirroring the 676 Computors that run Qubic. Around 150 remain, because owners sacrificed the rest to upgrade the safe houses and vehicles they kept.

The planned mechanic: dying costs 1 million Qu to respawn, and 50% goes to the owner of the safe house you reappear in. Kit_Kat_83 marked the figure as to be decided, since a rising Qu price could price players out. Volume is the thing to sit with, because time runs at 4.8 game days per real day and the list of ways to die is long.

Item Quality and Whiteprints in MLM Crafting

Every item carries one of five quality grades, shown by the colour that appears when you hold it. Crafting with better ingredients yields a better result, so quality compounds through the production chain.

Grade

Colour

Effect

Q5

Purple

Best efficiency, range and strike rate

Q4

Cyan

Strong

Q3

Green

Serviceable

Q2

Yellow

Degraded performance

Q1

Red

Worst; noticeably weaker weapons and tools

Advanced tech is whiteprint-locked. A whiteprint is a one-of-a-kind master schematic and roughly 90 exist, including the Punji Trap, Triplegun and Penicillin Fermentator. Holders produce grayprints, single-use copies that craft one item each and degrade unless kept in a plastic folder, which turns a schematic into a renewable revenue stream. Field guides form a second layer, covering birds, mushrooms, vehicle repair and fishing.

How to Join the My Last Match Closed Beta

Access requires owning an MLM asset, which for new players means a survival kit from mylastmatch.net/beta. There were 300, and 56 remained as of the session at 70 million Qu each. Each kit holds nine bespoke items that activate as development continues. Kit proceeds were converted into matches and seeded back into the world, so those millions of Qu sit in the game waiting to be looted. Capacity is not the constraint: CfB told Kit_Kat_83 the beta could hold roughly a million players as it stands.

  1. Create a Qubic wallet and store the seed phrase safely.

  2. Buy a survival kit for 70 million Qu through WalletConnect.

  3. Receive a voucher code.

  4. Download the Windows client, around 1.5 GB, from the MLM Discord.

  5. Log in with your Qubic wallet seed.

  6. Enter the voucher code, or auto-register if you already hold assets.

  7. At respawn, whisper the code with Shift + Enter to claim your items.

Use a wallet dedicated to MLM. Nobody from any support team will ever ask for your seed.

MLM Clans: Match Lords and Wolf Pack

Two clans operate inside MLM. Wolf Pack, founded by Roks, runs its own Discord and ranking structure and holds a large asset base. Match Lords is the clan Kit_Kat_83 leads, with Mersudin as clan leader, Zoxx on the smart contract, BigSo80 on marketing and Eko as strategic advisor, backed by more than 50 pro players averaging around 7,000 hours. The two clans cooperate rather than compete, and solo play remains viable. Match Lords holds 100 in-game assets including safe houses and smart contract shares and tokens already paying out to holders.

Holding

Count

Role

Safe houses

11

Whiteprints and equipment

qMine, which tokenises physical mining hardware on Qubic, controls about 95% of MLM's water, and Match Lords holds distribution rights for 10% of that revenue. At an indicative 25,000 Qu per litre and 5,000 players each needing 3 litres a game day, the illustrative figure is 1.31 billion Qu per epoch.

Revenue splits 70% to $ML holders, 15% to active players, and 5% each to buyback and burn, shareholders and reinvestment. Two payouts have run, 0.1255 and then 0.2328 Qu per $ML. Kit_Kat_83 repeated his own disclaimer: do your own research, and none of this is financial advice.

Q&A Highlights From the Qubic Community Space

Is there a road map? Not yet. Incremental development inside a permanent world resists a fixed timeline. CfB holds 50 of the 676 MLM shares, and the directors are Eko, Roks and Comachino.

Can I barricade myself against Dementals? Yes. Move dumpsters, lock yourself in toilets or phone booths, barricade with tires, stand on vehicles. Long grass and broken line of sight cut their tracking, and hypnotizing umbrellas distract them.

Is there an island? Motorboats, fishing and a discussed sunken ship exist, and Kit_Kat_83 believes an island is planned, though he flagged this as unconfirmed. It is not in beta.

Where to Learn More About My Last Match

Beavis has built the MLM wiki as a volunteer, close to 650 articles at mylastmatch.net/#wiki. Match Lords publishes controls and FPS videos on YouTube, the MLM general channel on the Qubic Discord stays busy, and the ecosystem page tracks the project.
