In crypto, a single private key is both power and weakness. Lose it, and your funds are gone forever. Get hacked, and someone else controls everything. Qubic’s Multi-Signature Vault MSVAULT fixes this. Instead of relying on a single point of failure, MSVAULT locks assets behind multiple approvals, ensuring that transactions only happen when the right people say so.

The Quorum has spoken. The vote passed. MSVAULT is coming.

But before it goes live, the Initial Public Offering (IPO) must conclude. Next Wednesday, when the Dutch auction ends, MSVAULT will officially activate, distributing ownership to those who buy in.

What Is MSVAULT?

Think of a normal crypto wallet - one key, one person, one mistake away from catastrophe. Lose your private key? You’re done. Get hacked? Say goodbye to your funds.

MSVAULT rewrites that system. Instead of a single keyholder calling the shots, transactions must be approved by a set number of authorised signers before they’re executed.

It works like a traditional multi-signature wallet, but it’s fully integrated into Qubic’s smart contract infrastructure, ensuring on-chain verification and automation.

How MSVAULT Works

  1. Vault Creation – Any user can create a multi-signature vault, defining the number of owners (minimum 2, maximum 16).

  2. Choosing Access Mode – Select between:

    1. Quorum Mode – A predefined number of owners must sign to approve transactions.

    2. Y of X Mode – At least ‘Y’ out of ‘X’ owners must approve a transaction.

  3. Depositing Funds – Anyone can deposit QUBIC into a vault at any time.

  4. Transaction Proposal – Owners initiate a withdrawal, but it doesn’t execute immediately.

  5. Approval Process – The transaction remains pending until the required number of signatures are collected.

  6. Execution – Once the conditions are met, MSVAULT automatically processes the transaction.

Customisable, flexible, secure.

Who Needs MSVAULT?

  • DAOs & Governance Funds – Decentralised groups needing shared control over treasuries.

  • Business Accounts – Corporations requiring multi-party approval for major transactions.

  • Investment Groups – Joint fund management where no single person can act alone.

  • Personal High-Security Wallets – Extra protection, even if one key is compromised.

What’s Next? The MSVAULT IPO Auction Is Live

MSVAULT isn’t live yet - but the IPO is happening now.

Right now, Qubic is selling shares in the MSVAULT smart contract via a Dutch auction IPO. Shareholders earn a cut of the transaction fees, meaning the more MSVAULT is used, the more they get paid.

Part 2 of this series will break down how you can participate in the IPO, place a bid in the Dutch auction, and become an MSVAULT shareholder before it goes live next Wednesday.

Miss out now? You’ll be buying shares from someone else later.

Will you be using MSVAULT to keep your QUBIC secure? Will you be taking part in the IPO? Got questions? Go to the Qubic Discord and Telegram and join the discussion.
