MINING EDITION

MODULE 1

LESSON 1

Getting Started with Mining

Mining is the process by which Qubic’s network of computors (miners) contribute CPU cycles to train AI models, validate computations, and maintain decentralization.

In traditional blockchains, mining focuses on solving arbitrary puzzles (hashing) to validate blocks. Qubic replaces that waste with useful computation — hence Useful Proof of Work. Every cycle spent helps train neural networks, making your work directly valuable.

Why it matters:

Direct utility

Your hardware trains AI, rather than burning electricity for nothing.

Reward fairness

Miners earn based on actual work performed, measured in epochs.

Network security

More miners = higher decentralization, harder to attack.

You’ll learn what all that means soon. For now, just remember:

Qubic isn’t a blockchain — it’s a tickchain.
