We are delighted to announce that the proposal to re-allocate 8% of weekly emissions to the Computor Controlled Fund (CCF) has officially been voted through. This decision is one that ensures a sustainable future for Qubic, attracts more developers, and empowers the community to drive innovation and growth.
Why This Matters: A Shared Success
The approval of the 8% emission re-allocation demonstrates the power of community-driven governance. Miners and Computors have been asked to re-allocate 8% of their rewards to our Computor Controlled Fund (CCF) to ensure that the ecosystem continues to thrive and expand.
But why do we need this funding to move things forward? Qubic was fair-launched with no venture capital (VC) backing. Unlike many projects that rely on large sums of money from institutional investors, Qubic is entirely community-funded. This means that without contributions like the 8% re-allocation, there are no external funds to tap into. The CCF is vital to ensure we can fund the development, marketing, and growth initiatives necessary to keep the ecosystem thriving.
A Future Built on Innovation
With the 8% re-allocation in place, the CCF will provide much-needed funding for several critical areas, many of which have been funded in the past, such as marketing budgets, employee salaries, and ecosystem development, as outlined in this blog post. Going forward, the CCF will also support the following key initiatives:
Core Development
A core goal of the CCF is to continue driving core development efforts within the Qubic ecosystem. The fund will help ensure that the technical aspects of Qubic continue to evolve, providing the infrastructure needed for future growth and improvements. This will strengthen the overall functionality and efficiency of the network.Funding the Qubic Grants Program
The CCF will also be used to fund the Qubic Grants Program, enabling developers and community members to build projects that add value to the Qubic ecosystem. Grants will be awarded to individuals and teams who propose tools, applications, or contributions that benefit the community and strengthen and create a vibrant Qubic ecosystem.Increased Exposure and Marketing
As the CCF supports ongoing marketing efforts, it will increase exposure for the project. This includes expanding Qubic’s reach, bringing in new investors, and increasing engagement from current QUBIC holders. Marketing will play a key role in ensuring that Qubic remains visible in an increasingly competitive space.Attracting New Investors and Listings
The re-allocation will also help attract more investment to the project, as the funds enable Qubic to secure additional exchange listings and build confidence among both existing holders and potential investors. With a stronger financial foundation, the project is more likely to draw in institutional and retail interest.Community-Building and Events
The CCF will fund community-building efforts, such as events, initiatives like the Qubic Ambassador Program, and activities such as hackathons, that strengthen the network of contributors within the Qubic ecosystem.Building a Reserve
It's also essential for the CCF to maintain sufficient reserves to deal with challenging market conditions. For example, ensuring that there are funds available during a bear market will help keep the project stable and prevent disruptions to core activities.
It's also important to note that the CCF funds cannot be accessed without a separate proposal detailing how they will be spent. This means that every CCF-supported initiative will be subject to oversight, ensuring transparent and effective use of the funds.
The Path Forward: Opportunities for All
With these priorities in mind, the CCF will be crucial for ensuring that Qubic continues to grow. The approval of the 8% emission re-allocation will lead to more innovation, improved investor confidence, and greater community involvement.
Whether you’re a developer with an idea for a new project, a content creator, or an organiser looking to host an event, the CCF will be here to support your initiatives. If you're ready to make a difference, consider submitting a proposal to the CCF.
By working together, we can ensure that the Qubic ecosystem remains vibrant and competitive in the long term.
A Bright Future
This is only the beginning. As the CCF continues to support Qubic’s development, community proposals, and outreach, the ecosystem will become stronger and more resilient. The approval of the 8% emission reallocation is a significant step toward a brighter, more expansive future for the Qubic ecosystem.
