MODULE 5

LESSON 3

The Quorum of 676

The number of Computors in the Quorum is fixed — always 676. A tick requires at least 451 to agree for finalization.

This setup balances:

Security

(tolerance of up to 225 faulty Computors)

Speed

(ticks finalize quickly)

Simplicity

(no dynamic validator rotations or stake-based elections)

It’s a deterministic process — no forks, no mempool congestion, no external randomness.
