Welcome to the 7th Qubic Steering Committee (SteCo) Bi-Weekly Update. Over the past two weeks, we’ve made significant progress on various fronts, including new hires, department updates, marketing activities, and progress in line with the Qubic 24 / 25 roadmap.  This edition is packed with valuable information and insights to keep you up-to-date.

Steco Governance

New Hires

  • New Qubic Grants Committee Member: Bill Schrekenstein is the latest member to join the Qubic Grants Committee.

  • New Core Developer: Franziska Müller (Raika Sternensucher) has joined the Qubic core dev team.

  • Ecosystem Growth Lead for North America: We welcome Tiger, who has joined our team as the Ecosystem Growth Lead for North America. She will play a crucial role in expanding Qubic’s presence in the US market. 

Marketing

  • Developer Documentation: The developer documentation is nearing completion, which will be a critical resource for developers building on Qubic.

  • Qubic Academy: Initial drafts of the Qubic Academy documentation have started.

  • Branding & Strategy: The SteCo team held discussions with Serotonin regarding the future of Qubic’s brand direction and potential strategies.

  • Instagram and TikTok: Qubic officially launched its Instagram and TikTok pages, increasing it’s global reach.

Hackathons 

  • Bishkek Hackathon: This took place this week (14th - 15th September) We received 191 team applications.

  • Barcelona Hackathon: Guidelines and challenges are being finalised ready for the event which takes place, 21st - 22nd October.

Events

  • Korean Blockchain Week: Qubic was represented by Eric In Seoul, where he was a keynote speaker.

Upcoming Events

Qubic will hold side-events at Token2049 Singapore this month and Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai next month, increasing Qubic’s visibility at major industry events.

  • Singapore Token2049: Qubic will be hosting a side-event on 18th September. 

  • Merge Event (Madrid): Held 8th - 10th October and featuring David Vivancos, a member of the Qubic Scientific Advisory Committee. Qubic is also a sponsor of this event.

  • Hong Kong: Two VC / Crypto conferences in October

  • Dubai Binance Blockchain Week: Qubic will be hosting a side-event on 30th October.

  • Lisbon: Crypto event in October

  • Investor Relations Roundtable: A virtual event scheduled for October.

We encourage you to attend any of these events, if you can, and we look forward to meeting you at any, or all, of them!

Qubic Grants Program:

  • The first batch of grants has been approved and is currently in progress. An announcement detailing the initiatives that have been chosen for grants is coming soon. There will also be a deep dive into each of these initiatives.

  • Work has also started on a Developer Academy, designed to attract talent from hackathons and events, with the goal of nurturing the next generation of Qubic developers.

Key Lessons for the Next Batch of Grants:

  • Future grants will be more directed, using Request for Proposals (RFPs).

  • An incubator program, potentially known as the Qubic Accelerator, is being explored.

Qubic 24 / 25 Roadmap and Objectives

In the last six weeks, we’ve focused heavily on creating Objectives, Bets, and Initiatives to serve as an extension of our roadmap. This structure brings additional clarity and transparency to our goals and helps ensure accountability.

  • Objectives: Broad goals that Qubic aims to achieve.

  • Bets: Strategic approaches that carry some risk or investment, guiding how we achieve our objectives.

  • Initiatives: Specific projects or tasks that help execute the bets and achieve our goals.

Objective 1: Develop a Vibrant Ecosystem (Lead: Albert)

  • Bet 1: Launch comprehensive programs for token holders, developers, miners, and partners.

  • Bet 2: Launch Qubic Academy to educate the next generation of developers and users.

  • Bet 3: Increase market awareness, brand visibility, and establish Qubic as a leader in AI research.

Objective 2: Advance AI and Core Development (Lead: JoeTom)

  • Bet 1: Nurture an interoperable ecosystem that enables builders.

  • Bet 2: Showcase Qubic’s AI capabilities through key demonstrations.

Objective 3: Ensure Financial Health and Long-Term Success (Lead: TN)

  • Bet 1: Build an effective organisational structure and improve team performance.

  • Bet 2: Ensure the financial stability and growth of Qubic’s ecosystem.

What’s Next

To ensure continuous progress and alignment with our roadmap, we’re implementing the following:

  • Each bet has several initiatives that the team is working on, similar to the published roadmap

  • We have created metrics and key-results for each objective, bets and initiative to track progression. Overall we track progression monthly.

  • We will report on these metrics, monthly, to the community.

  • Dashboards will be created for increased transparency.
